NSU College Of Dental Medicine (Closed Temporarily)

My 9 year old son experienced an unfortunate accident and hit his face, cracking his front tooth leaving a diagonal fracture. His general dentist advised the injury was too severe as his nerve us exposed and he needed to be treated immediately by an Endodontist. Due to his insurance he is only able to be seen at Nova’s Dental Care at the university specifically Dr. Michael Flax . I called the doctors office at the advice of my OD, and was immediately turned away. They stated due to COVID 19 they were unable to help. I advised this is a dental emergency and he is in pain and his insurance will only provide coverage through Nova. They continued to tell me because he has not been established they will not see him. I asked to speak with a supervisor to explain the severity of the situation and was repeatedly sent to a voicemail (and have yet to even get a repose back from a “manager”). Had I had the choice to go to another provider I would have absolutely blown this place off and not given them ANY of my business. Due to my son’s insurance I was not able to go anywhere else. I continued to call as well as leaving a detailed message explaining my worry for my child. THIS PLACE FAILED TO RESPOND TO MY CHILD’S EMERGENCY. I would never recommend ANYONE to this place. I have provided feedback with my sons insurance provider rep as well as looked into how to file a complaint with the county. I’m absolutely disgusted at the lack of care for a child’s emergency, even when they told me they were only seeing emergencies. I told them multiple times we have been quarantined for over a month with no exposure to COVID. I said I would wait outside. I begged. This place did nothing. I find this cruel.

Came here for a filling, the medical students are experts. Its been 7 months so far and no issues!

Nova dental school has been working on my teeth for about 3 years. I took a year off after having them redo an implant as it didn’t hold. So, I agreed to go back for a cleaning after considering not returning to nova. The student recommended another root canal and when I said I wasn’t ready for a root canal. The supervisor told me that they will discontinue service if I refused treatment. Needless to say, I walked out. Its almost as bad as sitting in front of a car salesman. This is after me spending close to $10,000.00 in the 3 years. This is not any way to do business.

I would not go to a dentist for over 10 years because of bad experiences. These folks restored my confidence. They pulled a cracked tooth, installed an implant for said tooth and did all my fillings and other work. I am one very pleased customer

Hi there, I have been a patient of this school for over 15 years. I have graduated 7 dentists! I started out with very intense dental phobias. However, the learning atmosphere, smart students and wonderful oversight by experienced dentist gave me confidence that my treatment would be the very best. No shortcuts, no money saving, no time pressures, no attitudes and at a wholesale cost! I’ve had all my fillings removed and replaced, many crowns, and 4 implants/restorations. Honestly, they saved my mouth and I was able to afford the best options. The waiting list may seem long, but it will be worth it!
