My children and I were humiliated today at doctor Kapila’s office. I wish I never went with the ER’s suggestion and did my own research and read REAL Google Reviews!!
This doctor kept my son out of school for the entire duration of his injury (9 weeks)!
We have never missed an appointment and are always early. I highly respected this doctor. I thought he performed well on my son’s surgeries. He is very firm, strong professional demeanor, slightly friendly.
Today we were assisted to a room to be seen by Dr. Kapila. We waited a few minutes for the doctor. When he came in, he noticed something like sand all over his floor and started shouting for me and my kids to get out of his office and clean our shoes. As he followed us out I tried to check my son’s shoes at a trash can and he kept bellowing down the hallway in front of staff and patients for us to go outside… I was telling him repeatedly, their shoes were not dirty and I told his staff on the way out that the room needs to be cleaned!!! I went outside, checked their shoes and they were not dirty!!!! So embarrassing!
There was no trail from the waiting room to the room. I don’t know what it was on the floor, but it did not come from my family!
We had to wait in the waiting room again for a good few minutes, after arriving at 8:55am for a 9-something-am appointment.
We got called back again, but to a different room (never found out what happened with the dirty floor in the other room). We waited another good few minutes (I had to get to work today, I was hoping my time would be respected)… Dr. Kapila came in, of course somewhere throughout the appointment had to make his sophisticated snarky remarks regarding my son’s physical therapy, which I was not up for today (9 weeks later and his staff can’t get paperwork to my sons primary doctor). As badly as I wanted to ask for or suggest an apology; I never received one. I’m truly disappointed as I thought this person/ Dr. would have the decency to at least say I’m sorry!
He apparently could care less.
We will not be returning here.
I’m very upset that he got a single penny from my sons insurance!! I truly feel very discriminated against!! What kind of person does this to a mother and her children? It’s apparent if I had different Insurance I may have been treated differently. Dr. Kapila is most definitely consumed in his uptight ways and has no consideration for anything but his pockets. Go somewhere else!
The staff can be slack sometimes when it comes to getting documents faxed/ e-mailed/ forwarded; I’ve constantly had to contact them and ask them to send documents again to my sons school and primary doctor. Today for example, I called them and advised that I spoke to the insurance company; whom advised I needed to contact the primary doctor’s office, which I did and was then advised to have Dr. Kapila’s office forward documents to the primary doctor’s office regarding the physical therapy.
When I called his office I was advised they’ve sent it already but would resend. I called the primary doctor’s office to confirm if they received it 3x between 3p-4p; they hadn’t received it! So I started calling Dr. Kapila’s office and couldn’t get an answer. Usually if they are closed their automated phone system plays when you call.
Aside from that… I’ve never had issues with scheduling, as I’d take the earliest Friday morning appointment. Very pleasant group of ladies!! They deserve a bonus, raise and expensive Holiday Party!
I was quite worried to go into this office after reading these reviews but I was referred to them by the ER so I showed to my appointment. I was pleasantly surprised by such nice / welcoming office staff and a lovely & informative doctor. Ill be going back for my check ups and PT. Moral of the story: dont judge a book by its google reviews.
This practice triple books appointments for every 15 minutes. Thus, you are guaranteed that you will always have to wait. I have a broken arm, thumb and back. I had an appointment. I waited two hours and there were still four appointments before me.
There are many other board certified orthopedists in Broward that care about your pain and your time.
Go to one of them. This doctor doesn’t care about you.
One of the worst Dr’s has cross my path. Back when I had my accident, I was with a temporary cast in my hand and my leg, I made appointment here recommended by my insurance. I notice him parking near me and he saw the difficulty I was having getting out the car and walking to his practice that don’t have automatic doors, he couldn’t run faster so he don’t help. My surprise when I saw him in his dirty office with a rude employees. I was in so much pain I was not thinking clear, how ever when he went to take out my temporary cast he seems insecure and he didn’t put it back, his receptionist did it. In that moment my instinct told me to walk out and thank GOD I did it. I found another Dr in Ft Lauderdale who perform a wonderful surgery. I think they pay to people to place good reviews, I can’t imagine happy patients. DISAPPOINTED there is some one like that taking advantage of people in pain. 🙁
WOW. What a Doctor. Compassionate and extremely caring. Other hand surgeon’s immediately wanted to operate, but Dr. KAPILA IS first trying injections and therapy. Gotta love this guy. And, he was right on time. Nice staff.
