Couldn’t get a price of an ultrasound even though I had the CPT code of the procedure.
With a high Deductable Insurance I wanted to know pricing before making an appointment.

Ive been to Akumin for 3 procedures. Each time I was treated like cattle. Front desk staff is usually extremely dismissive. This specific location had semi kind front desk staff, short wait time (Saturday morning) and a clean office. But as usual Akumin seems to have a culture of carelessness. I spent 3 hours on the phone preparing for my appointment. Making sure Akumin and my doctors office were on the same page and my paperwork was proper. Basically a middleman making sure everyone has what they need and does there job. Appointment setting is no longer as simple as making a phone call. Although it was the responsibility of Akumin to extend my authorization (whatever that is) both the doctors office and Akumin would rather play the blame game and in the end it’s the patient that suffers. I was told that these necessary documents were obtained and I was set for my appointment. Unfortunately , the date of the appointment those documents were nowhere to be found. Nor were the records of the conversation between the doctors office and Akumin. My health, time and money is important and is better spent at a facility of healthcare providers who care. I will no longer be pushed around by this company who could care less about its patients. From the rude staff to the careless appointment setters and cold doctors. My advice try Cleveland clinic Weston or anywhere else. I will be changing doctors because his office also played a role in this neglect and never using this facility again.

My 2nd visit to a Akumin unit in past 3 weeks. This one I had a catscan and tell you either have great managers, awesome human resource dept with ability to hire incredible caring gracious employees today at arriving 2 young ladies greeting me and helping with details couldn’t be more helpful. And when I was taken to room for catscan, wow lauren and Susan were beyond words gracious. They injected iodine in my arm and had a challenge finding a blood artery ,I did confess that I was born a coward ! 2 visits 2 different places Several gracious people, you are to be congratulated on doing a lot of things right. Thanks.

The customer service is amazing, for the lovely women at reception are super nice and make you feel welcomed. My ultrasound lady was also great. She made me feel so comfortable and was very nice as well. Check in was easy, for I had an appointment and I was in and out. They are very professional and well-mannered. Highly recommend this place for whatever you need to do.

Atrociously unprofessional and callous. I made an appointment for a diagnostic mammogram as instructed by my primary doctor. I do not work in the medical industry, I’ve never needed a mammogram before, it is totally unreasonable to expect your patients to know the specific equipment/scans needed for their medical care. Neither of my referrals specified the type of scan beyond “diagnostic mammogram” with a bunch of abbreviations, I would have no idea what they meant. When I walked in for my appointment – no confirmation from them prior, no instructions, nothing standard professional medical offices do – the young lady behind the counter was extremely unfriendly to me. She said they wouldn’t see me because I didn’t specify which types of scans needed to be done when I called. I told her no one asked me at her office and she spat out at me “NO that’s YOUR responsibility to tell us.” Absolutely dismissive. I told her “you understand I could have breast cancer right?” Nothing. I told her I was disabled and it was extremely difficult for me to get there and she said something like that had nothing to do with my appointment. The waiting room was empty, the parking lot was half empty, but they wouldn’t help us, said they were full. Completely unprofessional and traumatic experience, the girl was so dismissive and unsympathetic. I could be dying for all we know, you would think Akumin could hold their employees to a slightly higher standard of bedside manner with their patients.

I made an appointment with POM MRI and they were MUCH better. They asked me to send them my referrals, asked me for specific info from referrals, asked for my doctor’s name, took my chart info over the phone, and were much more friendly and professional. It seems like I’ll be in better hands.
