I was recently recounting to my husband experiences that I had at this library with the woman who is now in charge of this library, Monika. I was 19 years old and I had just purchased my first home nearby. Yes, at 19 I became a homeowner. I was working in South Beach and living in Sunrise and after a few months the 2 hour traffic battle to/from work became too much. I applied for jobs closer to home to no avail. Because I had about 2 years worth of savings and after consulting with my parents, I decided to quit and focus on finding a new job closer to home as the distance was preventing me from even going to job interviews. I applied for and received an interview for a job at this library. Monika was 2nd in command at the time. The woman who was the head of the library was older and very polite and professional during the interview. However, Monika was INCREDIBLY rude to me, a job applicant. She even berated me for quitting my job without having another without knowing anything about my finances. Again, I was 19, owner my own home, had a brand new car, and a nice chunk of change in the bank. I’ll never forget the feeling of shock and humiliation I felt. About a year later, I went to this library with a gay male friend as he needed a computer for a college paper. Monika happened to be there, she was especially rude to him and even accused him of viewing pornography for showing me a drag queen on the computer. Homophobia. 20 years later, I will never forget this awful, sad woman.

Great community library. Book sales, sorry times for young ones, good study areas, etc.

It’s a nice library but wifi is very slow. They definitely need to upgrade that. It’s hard to get work done due to the speed

A great, small-town feel library with a pretty good collection! The used book sales are a sweet deal!
