I had seen Ms. Schneider present at the South Florida Alzheimer’s Conference. She spoke so sincerely and authoritatively that I felt certain this was one person I could trust to walk me through the maze of laws and procedures and documents I would need to help me with preparing for my parents’ elder care and estate planning, as well as our own, especially given the complexity of planning for our disabled daughter’s future care without us.
Being organizationally disabled myself (if only it were a joke), this was no easy task for us or for Ms. Schneider. It took months, stretching into more than a year for me to gather all the papers necessary, with frequent progress assessments by phone, e-mail and in-person. When it came time for the final signing of all the documents, she took great care explain in meticulous detail the implications of each document, sometimes several times.
One of the reasons I had put off getting an attorney was my dread of feeling totally helpless and at the mercy of a professional who knew I knew nothing about her area of expertise. Choosing Ms. Schneider was one of the best business decisions I’ve ever made.

This story began in 1995 when my wife was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. Over the following years, we both became members of the S.W. Focal Point Senior Center in Pembroke Pines. For over six years my wife attended weekly chair yoga classes and I joined a care-giver’s support group. Later In retirement, I reached a point where it was becoming more difficult for me to provide the needed care for my wife. I discussed this with our coordinator in the support group and asked for recommendations of someone who could help guide me through the maze of financial and estate planning, long-term care options, designation of health care surrogates, etc. I was shocked upon learning the costs of skilled nursing facilities in our area. I feared that withing a few short years I would likely become impoverished. The only name recommended by the staff and our friends at the Senior Center was Stephanie Schneider. They all suggested that I talk to Stephanie.
My wife and I met with Stephanie shortly thereafter and were extremely pleased with how she carefully listened to our specific situation and concerns. Stephanie and her support team walked us through the many options available. I soon realized that this law firm was exactly what I needed.
Over the next few years, Stephanie and her staff helped us navigate through those initial concerns. And then we delved into the complex issues of Medicaid evaluation and application. We learned about estate planning, preserving assets. qualifying special needs trusts, designation of health care surrogates and many related topics. Stephanie knows elder law well and is fully aware of any recent changes in the law. She and her staff are respectful, friendly, and knowledgeable.
I am happy that several years ago I took those suggestions from the Senior Center to talk to Stephanie. I plan to continue my relationship with Stephanie and her team. I do not hesitate to recommend her to friends, my family and others in our retirement community.

Stephanie has been providing legal service’s to both myself, and my family, for over a decade. We have used her services across almost all of the areas she practices, and can attest that she is a subject matter expert in all of them. She has helped me handle the legalities of caring for a family member with special needs, including the complexities of working through the details of acquiring, and maintaining, government benefits. She has helped my family close out the estate of a deceased family member, which was left open for years due to the poor job our original lawyer did, and she has provided long term care planning, and trust administration, for other elderly family members. I could not imagine us working through these difficult issues without her. I highly recommend her for her expertise, thoroughness, professionalism, and a family like environment with regards to the way she cares for their clients.

On the advice of a good friend I sought Ms. Schneider’s service to prepare legal documents for me and my husband. She advised us well concerning a trust, possible need for assisted living, a will and other papers needed to prepare for our elder years.

Since she prepared the needed papers, my husband has passed but as we had successfully prepared our trust, his passing did not necessitate additional legal work I know other legal concerns will probably occur in my future and I feel assured of her good services.
