Sheridan House ministries most definitely SHOWED UP for me during a PIVOTAL moment in my life! I will forever hold this place near and dear to my heart! May God continue to use you to guide and direct the many who pursue healing and “genuinely” desire change ❤️🙏🏽
2013: my wife at the time, and I, went for marriage counseling that was called “christian” and yet were informed there would be no prayer involved. that was a huge red flag for me, but I agreed to try it anyway.
It certainly wasn’t helpful and there was absolutely nothing distinctly christian about the counseling if it could even most graciously be called counseling. For marital issues go somewhere else. one star is too many.
Sheridan House is an amazing ministry! They help single mom’s like myself with so many life needs including (bit not limited too) food and clothes on a regular basis. Pastor Bob Barnes and his beautiful, loving wife, Rosemary, have been an inspiration in both my life as well as my daughter’s. The whole team at Sheridan House is so kind, warm, inviting and generous. I don’t know what I would have done without them the past couple years. The most amazing part is that they take absolutely zero credit for the good works that they do…they give all the credit to God. And although I do thank God for the Sheridan House and all of its team members, I also want them to know that I thank them personally and individually as well for all of the time and effort they put into helping others. Their impact is enormous and I wish them blessing upon blessing. Thank you Sheridan House!
Amazing place. Very enjoyable to go with coworkers, friends, or family. Love doing the goliath gunlet. Thanks again sheridan family to support and help others.
Here are some photos of activities at the summer camp at Sheridan House. The summer camp allows kids to get used to the schedule. The focus is on CHOICES. Kids are not compelled to do anything. If they CHOOSE to do the work that is assigned, then they get points. If the kids choose NOT to do the work, then they lose points. Good attitude = more points. I benefited from this type of boarding school/living situation with chores and eating at a table with adults. The system should be copied … and the management encourages others to use their methods. I highly recommend this system for teenagers. Why not learn more about Sheridan House? The photos with this review include the race cars that the boys building, the fabulous GOLIATH GAUNTLET that is oversubscribed (nearly impossible to sign up!) and raises funds for the House, and a shot of some medals that my nephew earned. BRAVO, Sheridan House. (I agree with Lashonda, another reviewer, who mentions the helpful “parenting classes” that we attend 30 times a year).
The teenager in the Sheridan House program has grown from the feedback that he received from the staff and other students. This program should be duplicated.
